Two years ago, P&O Ferries shamefully fired 800 of their staff without notice and hired people on lower wages. The actions of P&O were an absolute disgrace. And it is a disgrace too that P&O have not been punished for this shameful practice, to the contrary, they have been given more contracts.
I am so appalled by this I joined the RMT union at their protest in Westminster to expose what is happening and call for action on P&O.
It is vital we put an end to fire and rehire and a Labour government will do this.
