Statement following the shooting on Gifford Road, Brent

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the brutal killing of Michelle Sadio on Saturday, 14th December, on Gifford Road, Brent. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Michelle’s family and friends, and I am available to meet with the family at their convenience to offer any support I can.

I am working closely with the police, local organisations, and residents to ensure that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and to prioritise the safety of local residents. Over the past few days, I have been in the area speaking directly with residents to reassure them that all relevant authorities including myself, the police, and the council are doing everything possible to support the community during this difficult time.

I have also urgently met with Gold Command at the Metropolitan Police, who have oversight of these incidents and are coordinating the response on the ground. I have raised residents' concerns directly with them to ensure swift action is taken.
