Dawn Butler MP Marks Holocaust Memorial Day

To mark Holocaust Memorial Day I lit a candle in Parliament, joining others in a simple but powerful act of remembrance. I also attended the commemorative services held at City Hall and Brent Civic Centre, standing alongside our community to honour the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.

Remembrance matters. It honours the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution and later atrocities. It strengthens our collective commitment to stand up to hatred, antisemitism, and racism in all their forms.

Taking time to reflect, together, reminds us why vigilance, education, and solidarity are so important. We remember the past, and we recommit to building a future rooted in dignity, respect, and equality for all.
