Dawn Butler MP Nurses Title Bill up for Second Reading

Dawn Butler, Member of Parliament for Brent East, introduced the Nurse (Use of Title) Bill under the Ten Minute Rule in the House of Commons earlier in the year.

This proposed legislation seeks to legally protect the title "nurse," ensuring that only individuals registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) can use it. The bill aims to enhance patient safety, protect public trust, and recognize the expertise of registered nurses.

Unfortunately, there was not enough time to debate the Bill at Second Reading today, however it will now be read at a later date and Dawn continues to push for this vital change in the law.
