Dawn launches her digital interactive calendar. Twenty Twenty has been a year that no one will ever forget, for mainly bad reasons but there has been some good moments. This year Dawn Butler, Member of Parliament for Brent Central, has decided to be innovative and launch a digital, interactive advent calendar for the festive season to highlight the immense contributions of the amazing Brent community, especially during 2020, helping others through the Covid-19 crisis.
Every day of December in the lead up to Christmas, Dawn will launch a new video featuring a different person, organisation or community group.
Dawn Butler MP said:
“I know we can’t wait to see the back of 2020, but as a tribute to all the amazing people in Brent I wanted to honour them and highlight their good work for the world to see. This digital, interactive calendar is my small way of recognising just some of the doctors, nurses, porters, cleaners postal workers, shop workers, mutual aid groups, council workers neighbours, charity groups, businesses – basically everyone who has done so much this year to go that extra mile for the Brent community.
Sorry if I didn’t get to you this year, but there’s always next year! Merry Christmas to one and all”
In normal times, Dawn Butler MP has traditionally sent a physical calendar or annual report for the year ahead to all 50,000 households across the constituency. This year however this is not possible due to the national lockdown which inspired Dawn to do things a little bit differently and launch a digital version in its place.
The calendar is due to feature groups including, for example, the Sufra Foodbank, Stonebridge Boxing Club, Ashford Place, Asian Women’s Resource Centre, The Beat London Radio and many more.
