This month marks Cancer Awareness Month, and I remain committed to my campaigning for increased uptake of mammograms to address the urgent issue of missed screenings. Currently, 2.18 million eligible women have not been screened in the last three years. Mammograms save lives—I can attest to this personally, as my own cancer, which was undetectable by other means, was identified through a mammogram.
I was also honoured to host the London Global Cancer Week Reception in Parliament this month, which brought survivors and experts in the cancer field from across the capital together.
It is essential to ensure that cancer services are equitable and accessible to everyone, regardless of race, class, or economic background.
