The Asian Women’s Resource Centre in Harlesden is a vital service for women fleeing domestic violence and I am proud to have worked with, and supported them, for many years.
Last week it was an honour to attend the launch of their phenomenal new training programme. This comprehensive training programme, the Harmful Advocate (HPA) Programme, is a pioneering initiative developed by the AWRC to equip practitioners with specialised knowledge and skills essential for navigating the challenges associated with harmful practices.
I know that this new training programme will be vital for anyone working within the Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) sector and will equip them with the skills to make a real difference to the lives of so many women. The course will cover prevention strategies, safeguarding, risk management, crisis management and so much more.
I commend the AWRC for taking the time to develop this and for using their resources to do so.
