It was a pleasure to join host the Stemettes in Parliament for International Women’s Day.
Stemettes is an award-winning social enterprise working across the UK and beyond to inspire and support girls, young women and non-binary young people into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths careers (known collectively as STEAM).
The Stemettes launched their own white paper on curriculum reform entitled ‘Equitable Curriculum Reform’ which makes 5 recommendations to the Department for Education and others. These recommendations include more diverse representation, in the form of role models, within the UK GCSE and A-Level Science, Technology, Engineers and Maths statutory content and for institutions to ensure their educational resources are accessible and actively inclusive.
