Housing is one of my top priorities for building a better Brent. It was my pleasure therefore to welcome the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to Stonebridge this month to visit a housing project.
Sadiq visited the Stonebridge Hillside & Milton Avenue housing developments which is delivering 22 4-bedroom town houses, and 51 flats which include; 16 1-bedroom homes, 25 2-bedroom homes, and 10 3-bedroom homes as well as a Community Centre. The scheme also includes a state of the art playground with accessible play equipment. This scheme was made possible with over £7m from the Mayor of London.
Our Labour run Council has also committed to directly deliver 1,700 new council homes by 2028. So far there have been 2,047 homes started on site or acquired by the Council for affordable housing.
Sadiq Khan has also this month marked exceeding a house building target for 116,000 genuinely affordable homes with nearly 120,000 built in the capital since 2015.
