Recognising the intersectionality of our fight for equality is vital. Fighting for someone else's rights does not diminish your rights.
As always, I have an incredibly ambitious programme of events around International Women’s Day. The below includes a select sample of my work as part of IWD 2024:
She is Summit 2024
The She Is Summit is a key event in the calendar for young women in Brent and is always held in the same week as International Women’s Day.
The event is informed by the voices of girls and young women from underrepresented and underserved communities that participate in programmes managed by the Young Brent Foundation and led in partnership with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, Peabody, Hyde, and Brent Council.
This summit is now in its third year and has gone from strength to strength. This is a key event in the Brent calendar for young women and girls in and is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their achievements, and to support them in meeting their career aspirations and challenges. I am passionate about empowering women and girls, especially those from underrepresented and underserved communities, to realise their full potential and this summit is fast becoming a key part in achieving that for everyone in Brent.
