Dawn Butler MP hosted Unseen, Unheard: A Spotlight on Inequalities in Breast Cancer in Parliament

This month I hosted an event in the House of Commons in partnership with Black Women Rising to bring the play Unseen, Unheard to the House of Commons.

The play showcased the lived experiences of six Black women living with or who have had breast cancer, and highlighted issues of ethnicity-based inequalities in the diagnosis, treatment, and survival of breast cancer.

This parliamentary event will look at how these inequalities could be addressed through targeted policy action and shine a light on and the experiences of women across the breast cancer pathway.

It will highlight the experiences of women who are living with, or who have had, breast cancer and consider how inequalities in diagnosis, management, survival, and care can be addressed.
