The next stop for Google’s Digital Garage bus will be in Brent next Friday (15th February 2019) and it’s all thanks to Dawn after securing it’s arrival in Wembley.
The bus, run as part of Google’s free digital skills training initiative, the Google Digital Garage, is arriving in Brent to offer local people and businesses free advice and coaching on their digital skills to help them find a job, or grow in their business, career or confidence.
The Google Digital Garage is one of Google’s flagship investment programmes in the UK, where anyone can come and learn free digital skills through a range of courses or 1:1 sessions. Since launching the Google Digital Garage in 2015, over 300,000 people have benefitted from Google’s free face-to-face training on digital know-how across 250 locations in the UK.
Dawn contacted Google earlier in the month to ensure the bus will make a pit stop outside Wembley Stadium (Wembley Park Boulevard, HA9 0TG ) in Brent for most of the day on Friday.
Timetable for the Day:
10:00AM Build a CV
11:30AM Build a Digital Marketing Plan
13:00PM Social Media Strategy
14:30PM Introduction to Digital Advertising
09:00AM – 16:00PM 1:1 Coaching
The free skills bus will offer courses and one to one coaching on digital skills, on topics including ‘Build a Digital Marketing Plan’, ‘Intro to Digital Advertising’, ‘Social Media Strategy’ and ‘CV building’ as well as a range of other digital information all run by experts at Google UK.
Dawn is encouraging all Brent residents to get involved including local businesses, their staff, job seekers and school pupils to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from experts from one of the largest digital organisations in the world.
Dawn Butler MP said:
“I am really pleased that I have been able to secure the Google Digital Garage bus tour in Brent. I know how enterprising and entrepreneurial the residents of Brent are and I’m very excited to see just how much those attending will take away from the courses.
“It is a perfect opportunity for local people and businesses to take advantage of Google’s considerable expertise and gain a better insight on how to grow your business or improve your CV. Make sure you don’t miss out!”
Ronan Harris, Google UK & Ireland Managing Director, said:
‘In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful and when it comes to business, it’s essential. We are delighted to bring the Google Digital Garage bus to Brent and ensure everyone has access to free digital skills workshops and 1:1 coaching. We hope you’ll pop in and get the skills you need to become more confident online, grow your career or business, and maybe even launch the next big idea.”
Everything on offer on the day is free, but places are limited for some of the courses, so I am encouraging everyone interested to arrive in good time.
