On Friday the 15th January, Dawn Butler MP visited Wykeham Primary School in Neasden.
The school has recently won much praise and has been ranked by OFSTED as an ‘outstanding’ local school as well as having been awarded the Evening Standard’s ‘Academic Excellence’ award for 2015.
Miss Butler met with the pupils and their teachers to celebrate the school’s excellent results:
“I am incredibly proud of the achievements made by both pupils and staff here at Wykeham. The school is truly inspiring and sets a shining example for all schools in Brent demonstrating outstanding academic standards.”
About the recent success of the institution, the MP for Brent Central said:
“I believe that much of Wykeham Primary’s success can be found in the schools ethos, giving every child an equal opportunity to reach their full potential together with their peers. Also, I am aware of the massive efforts made by the school’s headteacher, Mr. Everton Sharpe, who has provided real leadership and guidance towards excellence.”
In December the school topped the league table in Brent with an impressive 100 percent of all 11-year-olds reaching level 4, or above, in all key areas of teaching. Exceeding government targets by an overwhelming 35%.
