Dawn said:

I am delighted to return to the Shadow Cabinet, to serve as Shadow Minister for Diverse Communities. I am pleased to be part of Jeremy Corbyn’s cabinet, which has a positive, progressive agenda to improve this country for the better.

Under this Conservative government our diverse communities have suffered. Whether it is the introduction of the unfair Employment Tribunal Fees, its refusal to grant British Sign Language full legal status as is afforded to other languages, or its damaging economic policies which have disproportionately impacted on those from diverse backgrounds, this government continues to punish the most vulnerable in society.

I am therefore looking forward to taking on this role and standing up for all our diverse communities in the House of Commons, campaigning for fair and equal treatment for all.
