Ed Miliband Joins Dawn Butler at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Willesden Green

Labour leader Ed Miliband joined Dawn Butler on Sunday for a celebration ceremony at the Shree Swaminarayan Hindu temple in Willesden Green.

The Labour leader, accompanied by wife Justine, was blessed by senior saint Swami Santi Priya Das and given backing from spiritual leaders during the visit. 

Addressing the devotees, Ed Miliband said he would always value his relationship with the temple and with the Hindu community throughout Britain.

Afterwards Ed and Justine met Dawn’s campaign team and signing the “Dawn4Brent” campaign board.

Dawn Butler, Labour Candidate for Brent Central said: “It was a real honour to be invited to the Shree Swaminarayan temple and welcome Ed Miliband to meet with the local Hindu community.” 

She continued: “The temple is one of the oldest in the UK and represents everything that is good about our diverse community. It was wonderful to meet Hindu devotees from across North West London to celebrate our rich diversity and shared values.”
