Dawn visits Willesden shops on Small Business Saturday

Dawn visits local shops on the high roadDawn Butler was out and about in Willesden at the weekend, visiting local traders in support of Small Business Saturday.

“We have some fantastic shops in Willesden”, said Dawn. “There’s a real mixture – and that’s why people shop here.  The independent retailers keep telling me that, as long as people keep coming, they will keep offering them the products and services that they need and want.  From motorbikes to the best food shops and restaurants – you’ll find it in Willesden”

Small Business Saturday is an annual campaign that runs on the first Saturday of December. It aims to support, inspire and promote small businesses. The initiative highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. Over 92 per cent of Brent businesses are small or medium enterprises with 249 employees or fewer.

Dawn Butler said:

“Since we started Small Business Saturday, support has grown and grown. People know that shopping locally means more of our money stays in the local economy, benefiting us all.”

The Civic Centre hosted two networking events for small businesses in the run up to Small Business Saturday and there was free parking in all Brent Council car parks over the weekend.
