Dawn visits local Brent mosque as part of #VisitMyMosque

I was delighted to visit the Dar Al-Islam Foundation as part of Visit My Mosque Day. Events like this are so important in bringing the community together and I would like to thank the mosque and others across Brent for their continued warmth, hospitality and community engagement.

I am so proud that Brent is the most diverse constituency in Europe. I have always said that our unity is our strength, and it was wonderful to see so many people from our diverse borough pop in for a chat and cup of tea.

It was also important to visit stalls such as that of Tell MAMA UK, which does such important work in countering anti-Muslim hatred and islamophobia in Brent and across the country.

Events such as this continue to break down barriers and I look forward to continuing to work with many groups from across the borough to tackle all forms of hatred.
