Dawn Butler MP presses the Government to find funding for Brent Central Flood Defences

The latest data from the Environment Agency reveals up to 741 homes in Brent Central are at risk of flooding. There is currently one flood defence project under development, Tokyngton & Stonebridge Flood Alleviation, however this will not proceed until £835k of funding is found.

Dawn Butler MP said:

“It’s hard to overstate the economic and human cost of flooding. It doesn’t just damage property, it ruins lives. As the severity and frequency of flood events increases with climate change, and as more and more homes are built, so the number of people in Brent Central at risk will also rise. We urgently need robust defences – and I am asking the government to find the money we need to protect my constituents today and into the future.”
