Labour Member of Parliament for Brent Central, Dawn Butler MP, has this month wrote to every sixth form head in Brent launching her parliamentary work experience scheme.

Ms Butler is inviting Citizenship and Politics students, as well as any with a keen interest in politics, to apply for a work experience placement set between her offices in the Houses of Parliament and Willesden Green. The work experience placement would last for a period of one month for one to two days per week.

The work experience scheme aims to open up parliament to Brent students to give them a unique insight into the British political system as well as to help them garner a better understanding into the work of a Member of Parliament.

Brent students wishing to apply to the scheme should email dawn.butler.mp@parliament.uk outlining in a covering letter why they wish to apply to the scheme and their interest in politics, as well as a copy of their CV.
