Dawn Butler MP launches Harlesden's party in the pocket park

On Saturday 18th June 2016 Dawn Butler MP led the festivities at Harlesden’s new community garden in Challenge Close with the ‘party in the pocket park’.

The event was held to celebrate the park’s first green-fingered season and to thank the many volunteers who had worked so hard to make the community garden a great success including Friends of Harlesden Town Garden, Crisis and many more.

The party included a bouncy castle, face painting and a range of gardening and children’s workshops.

Dawn Butler MP said:

“It was a real pleasure to launch the party in the pocket park and to have the opportunity to celebrate the community’s achievement in transforming this open space. Parks like these breathe real life into our communities and provide precious spaces for people to get together with their neighbours, play with their children and much more – it also bridges the gap between gardens and allotments.”
