On Friday 15th July 2016, Dawn Butler Labour MP for Brent Central, celebrated the opening of the newly revamped Greyhound Pub on Harrow Road in Wembley.
The revamped restaurant & pub, now named The Arch, has opened following near £400,000 of investment by Heineken UK to create a community pub, restaurant and hotel.
Ms Butler met the new owners to congratulate them on their success, took a tour of the premises and even learnt how to pull the perfect pint!
Dawn Butler MP said:
“I’d like to welcome this new and up and coming business to Brent. I’ve had an amazing tour around the premises and I am impressed with the work they’ve done to transform it. It has been decorated to a high spec. I hope that the business continues to go from strength to strength and that this will become a thriving community restaurant, pub and hotel providing local jobs and opportunities.”
Mario Creatura, Public Affairs Manager at Heineken said:
“We believe that investment is the key to ensuring a sustainable future for the Great British pub, that’s why we’ve invested nearly £400,000 in The Greyhound. This investment in Wembley is part of a wider programme across the UK. There’s a general perception that pubs are dying, but this is a great example of how good management can turn a failing pub in to the hub of the local community.”
